On June 19 and 20 in La Rochelle, Sea4earth had the opportunity to participate in the Food and Health Days (JAS). This event provided a valuable opportunity to validate the growing interest of the agri-food industry in developing finished products using algae. Indeed, it is becoming increasingly evident that macroalgae, thanks to their specific properties, are ingredients offering added value in terms of nutrition, health, environmental impact, and taste.
We were able to exchange with key players from various companies such as Nature en Vie (Léa Nature) and Tipiak. It would be interesting for Sea4earth to potentially collaborate with their R&D teams to help them better understand the potential of this ingredient and to work on the development of products that meet customer expectations.
We also had the pleasure of reconnecting with professionals in the field, who informed us of how the shellfish farming sector is facing challenges due to climate change, leading to the gradual abandonment of traditional ponds and marshes. These historic sites could be revitalized and brought back to life thanks to algaculture!
During these two days, we also discussed with regional development actors, such as those from ADI Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Seventure, as well as the Economic and Environmental Development Department of Nouvelle-Aquitaine and the La Rochelle agglomeration.
A big thank you to the entire CRITT agri-food team for the impeccable organization of this event!
